چکیده

The activity concentrations of naturally occurring radionuclides in vegetables and peat soil were investigated to determine the transfer factors from obtained farms Klang Selangor. results showed that concentration ranges for 226Ra, 232Th, 40K vegetable 2.72-46.54 Bqkg-1, 9.01-54.84 19.22-477.76 respectively. various samples 0.41-3.41 0.02-3.56 16.22-317.49 soil-to-plant 0.01-0.67, 0.00-0.17, 0.26-2.52, Radionuclide has highest factor value most vegetables, especially fruit type vegetable, 232Th was found have lowest all vegetables. acquired compared levels are globally recognized as acceptable. greater than 1 beans showing a similar other studies involving tropical plants, while 226Ra 15 times higher reported data plants.

Radioactivity of Natural Nuclides (40K, 238U, 232Th, 226Ra) in Coals from Eastern Yunnan, China

The naturally occurring primordial radionuclides in coals might exhibit high radioactivity, and can be exported to the surrounding environment during coal combustion. In this study, nine coal samples were collected from eastern Yunnan coal deposits, China, aiming at characterizing the overall radioactivity of some typical nuclides (i.e., 40K, 238U, 232Th, 226Ra) and assessing their ecological i...

Natural Radioactivity Level of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K Radionuclides in Drinking Water of Residential Areas in Kermanshah Province, Iran using Gamma Spectroscopy

Introduction: Human has always been exposed to background ionizing radiation. Interaction between ionizing radiation and the biological system can lead to changes in cells or tissues inducing diseases, such as cancer. With this background in mind, this experimental study aimed to evaluate the specific activity of water radionuclides in Kermanshah province, western region of Iran. Material and M...

A Study on Transfer Factors of Environmental Radionuclides: Radionuclide Transfer from Soil to Different Varieties of Rice in Gorgan, Iran

Introduction Natural and artificial radionuclides are the main sources of human radiation exposure. These radionuclides, which are present in the environment, can enter the food chain. Rice is one of the most important food components in Iran. Radionuclides by transferring from soil to rice and entering the human body can affect human health. Materials and Methods Fourteen samples of different ...

Determination of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K, 235U and 238U activity concentration and public dose assessment in soil samples from bauxite core deposits in Western Cameroon

Determination of activity concentrations in twenty five (25) soil samples collected from various points in bauxite ore deposit in Menoua Division in Western of Cameroon was done using gamma spectrometry based Broad Energy Germanium (BEGe6530) detector. The average terrestrial radionuclides of (40)K, (226)Ra, (232)Th, (235)U and (238)U were measured as 671 ± 272, 125 ± 58, 157 ± 67, 6 ± 3 and 99...
